Geir Bergheim COO and founder of Genus

Geir Bergheim

Geir Bergheim is Genus's Chief Operating Officer (COO), leading the company's product strategy. At age 32, he founded Genus based on a theory he had developed in the late 1980s. Under Geir’s leadership, Genus has evolved from a “startup with an idea” to a growing company with a cutting-edge no-code development platform.

Before starting Genus, Geir was a manager at Andersen Consulting (former Accenture, now a Genus department). He was the team leader behind the Norwegian Police Operations Support System (PO) for the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer (1994), employing several ideas from his theory. In 1995, this system received top honors at the Computerworld Smithsonian Awards Program in Washington, D.C.

Geir holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.

“Genus is all about sustainable software in a rapidly changing world. Software must be flexible enough to absorb changes in how we do business, and it must keep pace with the technological evolution. At the same time, software must be built fast enough to be relevant and realize the value it is intended to deliver. I am proud to lead a company with so many talented employees, and together we will continue to innovate and challenge the status quo in our pursuit of better business software.”
